Rare species, fragrant Vanda luzonica – Flowers is about 2 1/2 to 3" (6 to 7 cm). Found on the isle of Luzon in the Philippines at elevations of 500 meters, as a large sized, hot to warm growing monopodial epiphyte that likes steady watering year round and blooms on an axillary, descending, to 20" long, shorter than the leaves, several to many (10 to 25) flowered inflorescence occuring in the spring with fragrant, very waxy flowers.

We offer these plants in blooming size, can bloom anytime during the year. These are seedlings so there will be different markings on flowers. Photos from other Vanda luzonica we bloomed before.

Requires a very luminous exposition, even some hours of direct sun in the morning, high temperature in Summer 77º – 89ºF, slightly cooler in Winter value not under 55º F, high humidity 70 – 85% and air constantly in slight movement.

Daily abundant watering and nebulization of the roots in Summer, in particular for the plants with bare roots, less frequent watering in Winter. Using rainwater, demineralized or by reverse osmosis, at ambient temperature is best for species orchids.

You can grow it in a 4" basket, bare root if you have high humidity and water them daily. Or you can plant it in a 6" baskets with moss or clay pot with extra large New Zealand bark. This will keep moisture around the roots so you don't have to water daily.
