Alcra. Hilo Ablaze ‘Hilo Gold’ AM/AOS (Bratonia Olmec × Gomesa Mantinii) is one of the best intergeneric Oncidium hybrids. This hybrid is now known as Gombrassiltonia Hilo Ablaze 'Hilo Gold'. The flowers measure about 4-4.5 inches across with apricot-gold flowers overlaid with deep chocolate bars on the petals and sepals and an intense red-orange blush on the lip for showy, beautiful plants with a very good growth habit.
Grow in bright diffused light, cool, intermediate, or East window, allowing the potting mix to approach dryness between watering. Prefers medium light levels. This orchid can bloom twice year!
Aliceara (abbreviated Alcra.), is an intergeneric hybrid made with the orchid generas: Brassia × Miltonia × Oncidium.
General Care: The ideal temperature range for this Oncidium, Brassia hybrid orchid is between 65-80F (daytime) and 55-65F (night) with 65% humidity. These orchids enjoy bright, shaded light from an east facing window. Check media for dryness. Water when media is almost dry, approximately 1X/week in the Summer or twice a month in the winter.
We NEVER recommend using ICE CUBES to water your orchid plant.
A balanced 20-20-20 fertilizer diluted to 1/2 recommended strength can be used or we also recommend using a slow release form. Re-pot approximately every 2 years.
