Floriferous Summer bloom Cym.

Helen Bannerman (Cym. Little Black Sambo 'Cinnabar') – Hybrid of Cym. canaliculatum & Cym. madidum – A beautiful plant with many

spotted green flowers on pendant spikes. We grow them under an arbor with about 50% shade in Northern California. It's intermediate to warm growing. Protect them from cold, and a drier Winter will help them produce lots of flowers in late Spring to Summer. Enjoy the sweet fragrance! These are divisions from our Mother Plant.

In 1966 this cross was first registered (and named by Mrs. B.P. Cooper) as Cymbidium Little Black Sambo, after the children's book of the same name written by Helen Bannerman in 1899. Recently it was agreed to rename the hybrid after the author.
