Native to Jamaica in the cooler west central mountains where it blooms mostly in the winter and spring, but flowering is possible in all seasons with a well grown plant.
It is a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte, which reaches 8 - 14 inches in height. You will enjoy many long lasting 1.5" flowers for many weeks. These Encyclia can last up to 12 weeks in intermediate to cool conditions. They are easy to grow in the same conditions as Cattleya by your windows or outside under patio or shade, and also grows well mounted on wood. Reduce water in the cold Winter.
